Fort Worth 2021 ---

Heavy Haulers Reunion 2021 Fort Worth, Texas - October 19, 20 & 21, 2021 --- All Marines

Hello All! We have a contract!

This is Mike Amtower, and to quote Dorothy's famous line: "We're not in Kansas anymore Toto."

With the demise/shutdown of the Colorado Belle in Laughlin we have needed to relocate.

We are setting up the 8th biennial Heavy Haulers Gathering in Fort Worth, TX at the Springhill Suites/Stockyards Fort Worth/Historic October 19, 20 & 21, 2021. A few blocks up the street on Long Avenue is the Fort Worth Aviation Museum, where "Patches" BuNo 153715 resides. Ben Collins has eight logged missions in her in his logbook and many others of you may have also flown in her. She is the most popular AC of our 26 at the museum.

It has been over 53 years now, (my how time flies!) since the original 463 folks first left SE Asia.

This would involve ALL Heavy Hauler folks from both HMH-462 & HMH-463. Actually, it involves ANY and ALL folks that have ever driven or laid hands on a CH-53 from all eras and any other squadron, Including HMH-362, The Ugly Angels.

We would like to exceed the success we have had in the past. We suggest that everyone consider bringing a guest that might not have attended in the past. All Marines and friends of Marines are welcome, also family members of Marines. Consider contacting your local Marine Corps League and American Legion organizations.

Fort Worth in late October has marvelous weather. We donated over $3300 to the Semper Fi Fund East & West after the 2019 Gathering.

The two dinners on Wed (10/20) an Italian night and Thur (10/21) a Texas BBQ will be held at $40 per person each night.

We are also requesting a $15 surcharge to help fund the hospitality suite. This charge is only per each squadron attendee, not their guest.

Folks, we have a venue change! We have outgrown the Hyatt and have been moved to the Springhill Suites/Stockyards, just up the street . No change in ANY costs. The Suites is a brand new property and can better handle our group.

I have reserved a block of 30 rooms at the Springhill Suites Stockyards at $159/nite (this is why Dorothy's line opened this message). We no longer have casino room rates.

The link to the Springhill Suites Fort Worth is: (833)483-0775 or by logging on to https://www.marriott.com/event-reservations/reservation-link.mi?id=1632408381432&key=GRP&app=resvlink and referring to Group or Event name (Heavy Haulers). Reservation due date is 9 Sep, 2021.

When talking to them, specify the Heavy Hauler name as a code phrase to get the above room rates. The Suites provides a complimentary breakfast and free parking.

There is much to do in the Stockyards area. Down the street is Billy Bob's to name but one. I will have the Fort Worth Aviation Museum opened up for us during one of the days so you all can see what keeps me busy these days.

We hope to see a bunch of you there! S/F! Mike Amtower My address is: Mike Amtower 1658 Knoll Ridge Circle Corinth, TX 76210-1907

Please make your checks out to me for the dinners and the hospitality suite. Or, for anyone that absolutely cannot attend and would like to send a donation for the Semper Fi Fund.

You can print the registration form from the link to the left.
