Subject: Fifth Update for the 2004 HMH-463 Reunion and Dinner at the Reno
Hilton
The following people have indicated that they will be attending the
2004 Reunion and have signed up for the HMH-463 Squadron dinner: Dale
Gibson, Orlando Busby, Almus Dean, Steven Culver, Charlie Block, Errol
Ortego, Dwight Burns, Ben Collins, Robert Martinson, Larry Groah,
Larry Wert, Jesse Deaton, Wayne Campbell, Bob Crapser, Mike Amtower,
Jim Shelton, Don Dorr, Robert Wemheuer, John Gayner, John Gaffney,
Dougles Raupp, Donald Dewitt, William Battey, Donald Motz, William
Cowperthwait and brother, Dale Routon, Daniel Ford, Jack Lane Robert
Miller, Mike Willinghurst, Mark Williams, Charles Corey, Ted Huss, and
Steve Garletts. This list does not include wives or significant
others. Note - Some additional Marines have indicated that they are
coming to the Squadron dinner but I still do not have their
reservations/checks.
To date we have received reservations/checks for a total of 58 people
who have indicated that they will be attending the Squadron Dinner on
the 9th of July. We still have room for another 50 if people would
like to attend the Squadron Dinner Buffet at the Hilton. If you would
like to attend the Squadron dinner it is not to late to send in your
reservation. I am also going to donate a framed picture of a CH-53
carrying an external load (1967-68 product) to be given away as a door
prize at the dinner. We also have some license plate holders that were
donated by the vender that will be given away as door prizes at the
dinner. Please contact other Marines of HMH-463 and encourage them to
join us at the 2004 reunion and Squadron dinner. It will be a very
enjoyable event.
Note - We have extended an invitation to members of our sister "Heavy
Haulers" Squardron HMH-462 to join us at our Squadron dinner since
they are very few in number and were late in getting organized. We
anticipate the number of HMH-462 participants at the dinner will less
than ten people. Please make them feel welcome.
Paula Gibson has put together a list of events for Friday and Saturday
that may appeal to the wives and/or significant others of Marines
attending the Reno Reunion. She has published the list of events and
suggestions that will help you find the interesting sights and events
in the area in and around the Reno/ Lake Tahoe area, including
shopping.
We have received the HMH- 463 Squadron License Plate Holders for the
people who have registered for the Squadron reunion and dinner. The
license plate holders has at the top "HMH-463 Heavy Haulers" and at
the bottom "USMC Vietnam Veteran".
As your Squadron coordinator I took the liberty to order additional
license plate holders for folks who may have been delayed in sending
in their Squadron dinner reservations/checks. There are a limited
number of these license plate holders available so please sign up
before the June 30, 2004 Squadron dinner cut off date so you can
receive your HMH-463 license plate holder.
Don't forget that we will have a Squadron Ready Room or hooch that
will be located in the Pavilion. Our Squadron Ready Room will be have
signage and will be defined by pipe and drape just as it was in Las
Vegas in 1996.
We will also have a hospitality suite in the Hilton that will
accommodate 50+ people.
We have received a good response from people who are willing to help
in manning the Squadron Registration desk Thursday and Friday (08:00
to 17:00). I am in the final process of put together the schedule of
assignments for the Squadron registration desk. I am waiting for
replies to several e-mails from the people who have volunteered before
we publish the list. If anyone else is interested manning the desk or
working the hospitality suite please let me know.
Again as a Reminder:
The Squadron Reunion Dinner is $40 per person and Squadron
Registration for you and your spouse $30. Final cut off date to make
reservation for dinner is June 30,2004.
Please make your checks payable to:
